Entre Ríos Gaming Revenues Triple to AR$7.6bn in 2025

Legal gambling activity in Argentina’s Entre Ríos province delivered a major boost to public funding throughout 2025, according to newly released figures from the Instituto de Ayuda Financiera a la Acción Social (IAFAS). The provincial gambling authority reported total transfers of AR$7.647 billion between January and December, equivalent to roughly US$5.2 million.

The result represents a sharp year-on-year increase of 212.68% compared with 2024, when contributions from regulated gaming reached AR$2.445 billion. The data highlights the growing fiscal importance of the legal gaming sector within Entre Ríos’ public finance framework.

Distribution of Gaming Proceeds Across Public Sectors

IAFAS allocates gaming-derived revenues across a broad spectrum of provincial institutions and social programmes. Official figures show that funds were directed to multiple beneficiaries during 2025, including:

  • Provincial Sports Fund (FOPRODE)

  • Provincial Security Fund (FOPROSE)

  • Ministry of Social Development

  • Ministry of Health

  • Homemakers Programmes

  • Audiovisual Fund (IAAER)

  • Municipal governments via the “municipal fee”

  • Ministry of Economy

  • Provincial Theatre Fund (TIER)

The Ministry of Economy emerged as the primary recipient, accounting for 53% of monthly transfers. Over the full year, this equated to AR$4.080 billion (US$2.7 million), underscoring the sector’s relevance to provincial fiscal stability.

Municipal administrations also benefited significantly. Through the municipal fee mechanism, local governments collectively received AR$1.093 billion (US$744,411) in 2025, reinforcing gaming’s role as a funding source at the local level. The Provincial Sports Fund ranked third, supporting investment in sports infrastructure across the province.

Monthly Fluctuations in Contributions

Transfers from gaming revenues showed notable variation throughout the year. Early 2025 recorded comparatively modest figures, with January marking the lowest point at AR$69 million.

Stronger performance was observed later in the year, with May and October standing out as peak months. In May, contributions surpassed AR$1.750 billion (US$1.2 million), while October generated AR$1.386 billion (US$970,692). The fluctuations reflect changing patterns in gaming activity, promotional cycles and product performance.

Gaming Revenues as a Public Policy Resource

By the end of December 2025, cumulative transfers totalled AR$7.647.544.224. These funds were distributed across social welfare, healthcare, security, culture, sports and municipal services, reinforcing the sector’s role as a consistent funding mechanism for public policy initiatives in Entre Ríos.

The contrast with 2024 figures illustrates the pace of growth within the province’s regulated gaming market. With contributions more than tripling in a single year, the sector continues to expand its economic footprint.

Sustained Growth and Social Impact

The 212.68% increase in funding reflects both rising gaming revenues and the effectiveness of a regulated framework that channels proceeds back into public services. As legal gaming activity continues to mature under IAFAS oversight, its contribution to provincial development and community programmes is becoming increasingly significant.

The 2025 results reinforce the position of regulated gambling as a long-term financial pillar supporting public interests across Entre Ríos.
