Wynn Resumes Al Marjan Island Resort Construction
Wynn Resorts has confirmed that construction work on the Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated resort will resume after a temporary pause linked to the current political tensions in the Middle East. The company had delayed the restart of construction while reviewing safety conditions in the region and monitoring the evolving situation.
Following the review, Wynn stated that work on the project will continue and the company has introduced updated procedures aimed at strengthening safety measures at the construction site. These steps are intended to protect employees and contractors involved in the development.
In its latest update, Wynn emphasised that it remains committed to completing the resort while maintaining strict safety standards for workers, particularly given the heightened risks associated with the regional environment.
Safety Measures and Remote Work Options
Construction activity at Al Marjan Island had previously been affected by escalating regional tensions and a series of violent incidents across parts of the Middle East. During this period, Wynn stated that it was closely monitoring developments and assessing the potential impact on the project and its workforce.
The company also confirmed that employees associated with the development are able to work remotely from outside the UAE if advised to leave the country by their home governments. This arrangement allows team members involved in planning, design and project management to continue contributing to the project while prioritising their safety.
Project Developments in Ras Al Khaimah
Despite the wider instability in the region, Wynn Al Marjan Island has not experienced direct attacks. This has enabled the company to move forward with the project after the temporary halt in construction.
Wynn noted that everyday life and business activity have continued relatively normally for much of the local population. As a result, the Wynn Design and Development team, responsible for architecture, construction and design, has continued its work on the project alongside the company’s operational and planning teams.
The company did not report any changes to the expected opening timeline of the resort as a result of the recent regional developments.
Focus on Employee Welfare
Although the situation in the region has created operational challenges, Wynn reiterated its intention to continue developing the resort while maintaining a strong focus on the well-being of its workforce.
In its statement, the company acknowledged the commitment of both its employees and the construction teams working on the project in the UAE, recognising their efforts to maintain progress despite the difficult circumstances.
