How We Rate
Every iGamist score is built from the same seven criteria, with published weights. Here is exactly how a company earns its number, and what a number cannot buy.
1–5
One scale for every criterion
Each criterion is scored from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) by an editor, against the same checklist for every company.
Σ w
A weighted sum, to one decimal
The overall score is the weighted average of the seven criteria, rounded to one decimal place. It is never typed in by hand.
2.5
The inclusion threshold
A company needs a valid licence and an overall score of at least 2.5 to appear in shortlists and the recommended order. Below that, the profile exists but is not promoted.
What we weigh, and how much
Licensing and conduct outweigh catalogue size on purpose. A flawless licence record with a thin game lobby is a better recommendation than the reverse.

1 / 7
Licensing & Compliance
25%Which regulators issued the licences, whether they are current, and whether we could confirm them in the regulator's own register. A single valid licence from a recognised regulator is the entry ticket; several strong ones score higher.
-
2 / 7
Track Record & Transparency
15%Years on the market, disclosed ownership, and any public fines or sanctions. Operators that publish who runs them and have kept a clean record score higher than newcomers with anonymous ownership.
-
3 / 7
Player Protection
15%Deposit, loss and time limits, cool-off and self-exclusion, reality checks, and participation in national self-exclusion schemes where they exist.
-
4 / 7
Platform & Technology
15%Mobile experience, site stability, and whether games and the cashier behave as advertised when we test them.
-
5 / 7
Payments Coverage
10%Number and variety of deposit and withdrawal methods, local options for the markets served, payout speed, and how clearly limits and fees are stated.
-
6 / 7
Game Portfolio
10%Number of integrated studios, breadth across slots, live and table games, and whether the lobby is kept current.
-
7 / 7
Market Reach
10%Regulated markets served, interface languages and accepted currencies. Wider reach matters only when it is matched by licences that cover those markets.
Money never moves a score
Some listings are paid, and some casino links are affiliate links that may earn iGamist a commission when a visitor signs up. Neither changes a score, a position in a list, or whether a profile gets published. Paid placements are labelled where they appear.
Scores are revisited when a licence changes hands, a regulator acts, or a reader reports a problem we can verify. Every profile carries a "report an inaccuracy" link for that reason.
Not a promise of winnings
A high score means an operator is licensed, transparent and well run by the checks above. It says nothing about odds, luck or the outcome of any bet. Gambling can be addictive; play only with money you can afford to lose, and only if you are of legal age where you live.
