Argentina Online Gambling Taxes Reach $81 Million in 2026
Argentina generated approximately $81 million in tax revenue from legal online betting and gambling platforms between January and September 2026, up from $61.25 million over the same period in 2025.
Data from the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) showed that collections reached ARS 123.856 billion during the first nine months of 2026, compared with ARS 93.658 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Estimates from consultancy Empiria, reported by El Cronista, indicated that the revenue represented 0.03% of Argentina’s gross domestic product (GDP). After accounting for an estimated inflation rate of 1.8% in September, tax collections recorded a year-on-year increase of 42% in real terms.
Empiria economist Lucas Tettamanti noted that, by the time of the report, gambling tax revenue collected during the first nine months of 2026 had already surpassed the total recorded for the whole of 2025.
September Gambling Tax Revenue Reaches $11.28 Million
In September, collections amounted to approximately ARS 17.255 billion, or $11.28 million. This was slightly higher than August’s ARS 16.975 billion but remained below July’s ARS 17.798 billion, the highest monthly total recorded during the period.
ARCA’s revenue breakdown includes a category labelled “cash betting”. Agency sources told El Cronista that this classification refers to the specific tax applied to betting activities, including slot games.
Between January and September 2026, the category generated approximately ARS 56.962 billion, equivalent to $37.25 million.
