Betano Reveals World Cup Betting Trends by Nation
New betting figures released by Betano, the official sports betting partner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, indicate that Brazilian bettors continue to back their national team despite a decline in outright winner selections compared to before the tournament began.
The data is based on bets placed between 11 June and 24 June.
Brazil Remains the Top Choice
According to Betano, 60.4% of outright winner bets placed by customers in Brazil are on the Seleção lifting the World Cup trophy. Although this remains the highest share, it is lower than the 75% recorded before the tournament kicked off.
Brazil progressed through the group stage after drawing with Morocco and defeating Haiti and Scotland to finish top of Group C. The team then secured a 2-1 victory over Japan, booking a place in the Round of 16.
Endrick Tops Young Player Betting
Betano’s figures also show strong confidence in Endrick, who leads the market for Best Young Player of the Tournament among Brazilian bettors.
The Real Madrid forward has received 58.6% of bets in that category, comfortably ahead of Lamine Yamal, who accounts for 13.9% of selections.
Although Endrick has mainly featured as a substitute during the tournament, many Brazilian supporters continue to believe he can make a major impact and have expressed confidence in his performances.
National Loyalty Seen Across Other Markets
The report also compares betting trends in several other football nations.
In Argentina, the defending champions account for 69.1% of outright winner bets placed by local customers. Lionel Messi also leads multiple individual betting markets, attracting 40.6% of selections for Best Player, 28.9% for Top Goalscorer, and 28.7% for Most Assists.
Among Portuguese bettors, 40.8% of outright winner wagers are in Portugal. Cristiano Ronaldo is the leading choice for Top Goalscorer with 29.6% of bets, while Vitinha heads the Most Assists market with 29.4%.
German Bettors Support Home Team
The data also highlights strong backing for Germany, with 47.1% of outright winner bets from German customers placed on their national team.
For individual awards, Kai Havertz leads the top goalscorer market among German bettors, receiving 8.9% of selections, although he trails several international favourites, including Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane.
Betano’s latest figures illustrate how bettors across different countries continue to favour their own national teams and star players as the World Cup moves into the knockout rounds.
