BetPlay and Súper Astro Drive Colombia’s Gaming Growth
BetPlay and Súper Astro continue to be Colombia’s leading gaming offerings, generating COP 347.587 billion in contributions to the state in 2025 alone. Both platforms are operated by Corredor Empresarial and remain pivotal to public funding.
Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié highlighted the importance of these funds: “The contributions transferred to the Nation were used to support the health system and represent an 11% increase compared with the revenues generated in 2024.”
Early figures from 2026 show the upward trend is ongoing. Between January and mid-March, BetPlay and Súper Astro contributed approximately COP 106.259 billion, a 1.56% rise compared to the same period last year.
Growth Fueled by Digital Betting and Innovative Games
The regulator attributes this growth to the rise of “novel games” including online betting platforms like Súper Astro. Hincapié added, “We have successfully reinforced the sector of innovative games. This is why our daily contributions to the health system continue to break records.”
BetPlay recorded total deposits of COP 5.5 trillion and VAT contributions of COP 745.594 billion in 2025, while Súper Astro achieved COP 754.820 billion in sales.
Maintaining a Secure Regulated Market
Despite this strong performance, Coljuegos remains focused on protecting the legal industry. Hincapié noted, “We will keep combating unauthorized operators who undermine both entrepreneurs and the resources dedicated to Colombia’s health system.”
Súper Astro’s Long-Term Growth Outlook
Súper Astro represents around 13% of the national gaming segment. Coljuegos projects sales to surpass COP 4.1 trillion over the next five years, generating an estimated COP 781 billion in additional contributions to subsidized healthcare. Strategic marketing plans with Corredor Empresarial aim to attract more players to games such as Astro Sol and Astro Luna.
Enhancing Oversight and Compliance
To strengthen regulatory supervision, Coljuegos appointed Consorcio Interventoría Itecoplan to oversee technical, financial and legal compliance across all gaming operations in Colombia’s 32 departments.
Hincapié concluded, “This collaboration between regulator, operator and supervisor ensures the sector maximizes contributions to the health system while maintaining integrity and compliance.”
The report underscores the critical role of Colombia’s regulated gaming industry in public financing, particularly in healthcare and highlights the continued growth of online and lottery-based gaming products.
