Betsson Reports Record Q2 Growth Led by Latin America
Latin America remained the strongest growth market for Betsson Group during the second quarter of 2026, delivering record regional revenue and contributing more than one-third of the company’s total quarterly income.
Revenue from the region increased 32% year-on-year, supported by strong performances in Peru and Argentina. Betsson attributed the growth to continued product development, brand-building initiatives and marketing campaigns surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which helped attract new players while increasing engagement among existing customers.
The regional performance helped lift Betsson’s total revenue for the April-to-June period to a record EUR 310.2 million, representing a 2% increase compared with the same quarter last year and 6% organic growth.
World Cup Boosts Customer Activity
Commenting on the results, Betsson Group President and CEO Pontus Lindwall said the company's B2C operations continued to expand during the quarter, with additional momentum generated by the FIFA World Cup, which began in June.
He noted that the tournament contributed to the highest quarterly revenue in Betsson’s history, while Latin America once again outperformed other regions thanks to growth across its key markets. Lindwall added that the results reflect the company’s long-term regional strategy focused on delivering value to both customers and shareholders.
Higher Regulation Weighs on Earnings
Although revenue increased, profitability declined during the quarter.
Casino revenue rose by 2%, while sportsbook revenue increased 1%, with the sportsbook margin reaching 10.5%.
EBITDA totaled EUR 58.5 million, down 31% year-on-year, resulting in an EBITDA margin of 18.8%. Operating profit (EBIT) fell 39% to EUR 42.2 million, with a margin of 13.6%.
Lindwall explained that the decline was largely driven by a greater share of revenue coming from regulated markets. Around 76% of Betsson’s B2C revenue now originates from regulated jurisdictions, leading to a higher tax burden than in the previous year.
Growth Extends Beyond Latin America
Outside Latin America, Betsson also reported positive developments across several international markets.
Western Europe continued to perform well, with Italy remaining a key growth market as the company maintained its investment in brand visibility through its partnership with Inter Milan.
The company also recorded growth across the Baltic states, Georgia and Croatia, supporting solid results throughout Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA). Lindwall said the B2C segment continued to generate record customer activity across these markets.
Meanwhile, the B2B division reported lower revenue compared with the second quarter of 2025, mainly due to reduced activity from one of its largest partners. However, Lindwall said performance has begun to stabilize, with new commercial opportunities expected to support future growth.
Positive Momentum Continues Into Q3
For the first half of 2026, Betsson generated revenue of EUR 595.5 million, representing 5% organic growth.
EBITDA for the six-month period reached EUR 108.4 million, down 33% from the previous year, while EBIT declined 43% to EUR 76.2 million. Net profit for the first half totaled EUR 55.9 million.
The company also reported a strong start to the third quarter, supported by continued FIFA World Cup activity. According to Lindwall, average daily revenue from the beginning of the quarter through 13 July was 14% higher than the corresponding period in the third quarter of 2025.
He added that Betsson believes its competitive product portfolio and established market position leave the company well placed to continue delivering long-term growth.
