BGaming Launches Yokai in New ART Collab Series

The ART Collab project is a new initiative that brings together street artists from different parts of the world to create original slot experiences inspired by their individual artistic styles. Yokai launches the series and represents BGaming’s third collaboration with Gonçalo MAR, although it is the first time the partnership has resulted in a complete game.

The collaboration began after BGaming discovered MAR’s artwork at an exhibition in Lisbon. Since then, both parties have worked on several creative projects, including contributions to BGaming’s Charity Gala, where the artist’s work was auctioned to support DAR Bjorn.

Artistic Style Shapes the Game

For Yokai, Gonçalo MAR designed the visual concept, artwork and storyline, while BGaming’s development team transformed the ideas into a playable slot. Several elements from the artist’s portfolio have been incorporated into the game, including his signature "Turista" finger-fish character, which appears as a symbol on the reels and also inspires the appearance of the main character.

The game is set near Mount Fuji, where players accompany a mysterious Samurai guarding an ancient forest inhabited by Yokai spirits. Throughout gameplay, the Samurai activates special features by slicing through the reels to trigger bonus rounds, while the Yokai spirits appear and disappear across the screen to create a more dynamic visual experience.

Gameplay Includes Multiple Bonus Features

Yokai combines its artistic presentation with a range of gameplay mechanics. The slot includes two different Wild symbols, cumulative multipliers, and a Free Spins feature that awards a randomly selected number of spins whenever it is activated.

Players can also benefit from a maximum payout of up to 8,000x their stake, while the game offers a 97% RTP.

To provide quicker access to bonus content, BGaming has included two purchase options. The Buy Chance feature increases the probability of triggering the bonus round, while Buy Bonus allows players to enter the Free Spins feature instantly.

He added that Yokai marks the beginning of a new collection that the studio expects to continue expanding in the future.
