DigiPlus Pauses GamePlus in Brazil to Tailor Local Gaming

Philippine-based gaming operator DigiPlus Interactive Corporation has decided to pause operations of its Brazilian iGaming brand, GamePlus, only three weeks after its initial launch. The company said the break will allow them to redesign the platform with a stronger local identity, reflecting the habits, interests and cultural nuances of Brazilian players.

During the soft launch, DigiPlus used the platform as a real-time testing ground, carefully tracking user behavior and entertainment preferences. These findings will directly inform its development strategy, ensuring upcoming content better connects with the Brazilian audience.

Strong Emphasis on Cultural Fit and Long-Term Strategy

DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio H. Tanco explained that the decision reflects the company’s long-term vision of delivering meaningful and top-quality digital entertainment rather than rushing market expansion. According to Tanco, stepping back now gives the team time to refine and elevate the product, so that when it returns, it resonates deeply with local gamers.

The firm’s teams in Manila and São Paulo are collaborating on a fully in-house, high-caliber and market-specific platform, aiming for a relaunch in early 2026.

Advancing Regulatory Position and Expanding Globally

DigiPlus is among a small group of operators already licensed under Brazil’s evolving legal iGaming framework, a position that gives it an edge in a rapidly maturing market.

Beyond Brazil, the company has filed for multiple gaming licenses in South Africa’s Western Cape and introduced GamePlus as its first international brand. Its second expansion wave includes the launch of BingoPlus in Brazil, planned for 2026.

In the Philippines, DigiPlus continues to operate BingoPlus, ArenaPlus sportsbook and GameZone, a casual and arcade gaming platform.

Localization: A Strategic Key to Market Entry

The decision to suspend GamePlus highlights how market entry without fully localized content can be challenging in the competitive iGaming landscape. DigiPlus aims to counter this by prioritizing cultural sensitivity, language adaptation and player-centered game design to strengthen its foothold in Brazil’s regulated ecosystem.

This calculated pause reflects DigiPlus’s measured approach to global expansion. By focusing on quality, cultural alignment and sustainable growth, the company is positioning itself to return to Brazil with a platform designed not just for players but with them in mind.
