Maryland Lottery Debuts Harlem Globetrotters Scratch-Off

The Maryland Lottery has introduced a new scratch-off game celebrating the legendary Harlem Globetrotters, marking the first time the globally recognized basketball entertainers have been featured in a lottery product.

The $2 ticket developed under license from EQL Games is rolling out at retailers statewide and arrives just ahead of the Globetrotters’ centennial celebration in 2026. The game showcases retro artwork, including the team’s signature spinning-ball imagery and gives players chances to win instant prizes as well as rewards through a special second-chance promotion.

Maryland Lottery Director John Martin said the launch blends two iconic forms of entertainment. “We’re excited to share the spirit of the Harlem Globetrotters with our players as the team prepares for its 100-year milestone,” Martin noted, emphasizing that the collaboration brings together the appeal of classic scratch-off games with a family-favorite brand.

Alongside immediate cash payouts, players can submit non-winning tickets through My Lottery Rewards for entry into the Harlem Globetrotters Second Chance Promotion. Thirty winners will receive VIP ticket bundles to upcoming Globetrotters games hosted at The Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore.

EQL Games CEO Brad Cummings said the timing of the release honors a century of Globetrotter entertainment. “Next year marks 100 years of the Globetrotters being synonymous with fun exactly why people enjoy the lottery,” he said. Cummings added that the Maryland Lottery partnership offers fans a unique mix of cash-winning opportunities and exclusive live-event experiences.
