Play’n GO Secures Alberta Gaming Licence
Play’n GO has secured a licence to supply online gaming content in Alberta, expanding the company’s footprint in the regulated Canadian market.
The licence was issued by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission (AGLC) and allows Play’n GO to offer its online casino portfolio to licensed operators in the province ahead of Alberta’s expected market launch later this year.
The approval strengthens Play’n GO’s position in Canada, where the company already operates in Ontario and Quebec, while continuing its focus on regulated jurisdictions across North America.
Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer at Play’n GO, described the Alberta licence as another important step in the company’s regional expansion strategy.
“Being granted a licence in Alberta is another important step in our North American growth journey and further strengthens our presence in Canada” Olsson said.
He added that regulated markets remain central to the company’s business model and highlighted Alberta as a jurisdiction focused on player protection, compliance standards and sustainable industry growth.
The licence forms part of Play’n GO’s wider strategy of entering regulated markets through partnerships with licensed operators while delivering compliant gaming content.
As part of preparations for the Alberta market launch, Play’n GO confirmed it has aligned its technology and game portfolio with local regulatory requirements, with an initial group of titles currently undergoing certification processes for launch readiness.
