Playson Partners with World Sports Betting in South Africa

Playson has entered into a content agreement with World Sports Betting, strengthening its position in South Africa’s regulated iGaming sector. The deal will bring a range of the supplier’s Hold and Win slots to the operator through Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform.

Under the agreement, World Sports Betting will introduce Playson games to its casino portfolio in stages. The first batch includes Coin Strike: Hold and Win, Thunder Coins: Hold and Win and Thunder Coins XXL: Hold and Win. Additional titles are expected to join the offering as the partnership progresses.

World Sports Betting serves customers across South Africa, where it has operated in the iGaming market since its establishment, providing a variety of betting and gaming products.

The collaboration supports Playson’s broader expansion strategy across regulated jurisdictions and adds to its existing partnerships throughout Africa. The supplier operates in 29 regulated markets and collaborates with more than 200 partners worldwide.

Its regulatory credentials include licences from the UKGC, ONJN, HGC, SGA, AGCO, GRA, MinCetur, SPA and PAGCOR, alongside a recognition notice issued by the MGA.

The agreement also adds to ongoing activity among suppliers and operators in South Africa, as casino platforms continue to expand their available content. Light & Wonder’s aggregation technology provides the distribution channel for Playson’s titles in this partnership.

Blanka Homor, Sales Director at Playson, said:

“World Sports Betting is a leading name in the South African market, making this a valuable partnership as we continue to expand our presence across the region.

“Our Hold and Win portfolio has resonated strongly in regulated markets throughout the continent, and we look forward to providing new players with an enriched gaming experience, driven by compelling mechanics and data-driven insights.”

Ryno du Plessis, COO at World Sports Betting, said:

“We are pleased to be adding Playson’s content to our casino offering, giving our players access to a proven selection of top-performing titles.

“World Sports Betting is committed to delivering first-in-class entertainment experiences and this integration doubles down on that company focus as we continue to lead the way for iGaming across South Africa.”
