Spelinspektionen Fines Sportalliansen Sverige €13,380
Sweden’s gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen, issued a warning and imposed a financial penalty of €13,380 on Sportalliansen Sverige on 9 October after identifying shortcomings in the information displayed on its physical lottery tickets.
The regulator launched a supervisory review of the association in February 2026 to assess its compliance with the Swedish Gambling Act (2018:1138), including the relevant provisions cited in the legislation. The investigation found that Sportalliansen Sverige had not met the disclosure requirements for tickets used in its land-based lottery activities.
Spelinspektionen stated on its official website:
“The Swedish Gambling Authority’s inspection reveals deficiencies in the information on physical lottery tickets. Sportalliansen Sverige is therefore given a warning and a sanction fee.”
The review formed part of Spelinspektionen’s supervision of licence holders operating land-based raffle games, which began in February 2026. The assessment covered lotteries offering prizes valued at more than one basic amount.
Following its findings, the authority issued the warning alongside a sanction fee of €13,380. According to the regulator, the penalty amount is determined by considering both the seriousness of the breach and the period over which it occurred.
Spelinspektionen’s supervisory work aims to ensure that lotteries, casinos and other gambling activities in Sweden comply with the country’s legal requirements.
