Sweden Suspends Charm Entertainment Gambling Licence

Sweden’s Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has temporarily revoked Charm Entertainment AB’s licence following an investigation into the company’s financial reporting and the conduct of individuals connected to the business.

The regulator ordered Charm Entertainment to cease all operations after identifying inconsistencies in the company’s financial statements and concerns involving personnel suspected of accounting violations.

The decision took effect on 1 October 2026 and will remain in place while court proceedings continue. However, the temporary revocation cannot remain effective beyond 1 April 2027.

Spelinspektionen based its decision on Charm Entertainment’s annual reports covering 2023 through 2025, together with information from an ongoing criminal investigation being heard at Södertälje District Court.

According to the regulator, there are “sufficient reasons” to suspect that Charm Entertainment does not meet the requirements that apply when assessing licence applications.

The authority also highlighted serious criminal charges involving both current and former executives of Charm Entertainment. Among the allegations are aggravated accounting crimes involving people linked to Lucky 21 Casino AB, which previously operated as a licensed gambling company.

Spelinspektionen emphasised the seriousness of the alleged offences and the connections between the individuals associated with Lucky 21 Casino AB and Charm Entertainment.

Although the decision remains subject to review, the initial measure can stay in effect for up to six months. The regulator also has the possibility of extending the measure for another six months if required.
