BiS SiGMA South America 2026 Highlights Brazilian Casinos
BiS SiGMA South America, the largest iGaming and betting industry event in Latin America, is set to return to São Paulo from April 6 to 9, bringing together key stakeholders from across the sector. The 2026 edition is expected to welcome more than 18,500 attendees, alongside over 400 exhibitors and sponsors, with a conference programme featuring more than 250 speakers.
Recognised as a major platform for networking, innovation and industry dialogue, the event will host operators, technology providers, investors, regulators and media representatives, all focused on exploring the evolving dynamics of the global gaming landscape.
Focus on Land-Based Casinos
A central topic at this year’s event will be the future of land-based casinos in Brazil. On April 8, multiple panel discussions at the Itaim stage will examine different aspects of the sector.
Interest in this topic is closely tied to ongoing legal developments in Brazil, including the review of whether the long-standing gambling ban under the 1941 Criminal Misdemeanors Law aligns with the 1988 Constitution. The matter is set to be addressed through Extraordinary Appeal RE 966177 later in April.
Exploring Regulatory and Global Perspectives
One of the featured panels will explore how Brazil could establish a regulated land-based casino market, focusing on frameworks that balance economic potential with safety and compliance. This discussion comes as Bill No. 2,234/2022, which proposes the legalisation of casinos, moves closer to a Senate vote after decades of debate.
Another session will examine international examples of partnerships between indigenous communities and casino operators, highlighting governance structures, revenue-sharing approaches and regulatory considerations.
A separate panel will look at the convergence between physical and digital gaming, analysing how land-based casinos are adapting to increasingly integrated environments that combine retail and online experiences. Topics such as data use, taxation and player protection are expected to be part of the discussion.
Industry at a Crossroads
The prominence of these themes within the conference agenda reflects a pivotal moment for Brazil’s gaming sector. With both legislative and judicial processes underway, the market appears to be approaching a period of significant transformation, with potential implications for operators, investors and regulators alike.
