GKL September Casino Revenue Rises 7.2%

Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) reported casino revenue of KRW37.3 billion ($27.7 million) for September, marking a 7.2% increase from the same month in 2025 and a 19.8% improvement compared with August.

The rise in revenue came despite a decline in the company’s drop amount. GKL recorded KRW323.7 billion ($24.3 million) in drop during September, down 5.2% year-on-year.

The monthly results were driven primarily by stronger table game revenue, which offset a decline in gaming machine earnings.

GKL operates foreigner-only casinos in South Korea under its Seven Luck brand.

Table Games Drive Revenue Increase

Table games generated KRW34.0 billion ($25.3 million) for GKL in September. This was an 8.4% increase compared with the same month a year earlier.

The stronger table game performance provided the main contribution to the company’s overall casino revenue growth. Table games represented the majority of the KRW37.3 billion generated across GKL’s casino operations during the month.

Gaming machines produced a different result. Revenue from the segment reached KRW3.27 billion ($2.43 million), representing a 4.5% year-on-year decline.

Despite the weaker machine performance, the increase in table game revenue was enough to lift GKL’s total casino revenue. September’s result was also 19.8% above the revenue recorded in August.

The monthly figures showed a divergence between casino revenue and drop. While the amount wagered or exchanged at the casinos declined 5.2% from the previous year, total revenue increased.

GKL’s reported data did not provide additional details explaining the change in drop or the increase in table game revenue. The figures showed that stronger table game results more than offset the reduction in gaming machine income.

Casino Sales Up 5.8% Through September

For the first nine months of 2026, GKL recorded casino sales of KRW337.2 billion ($250 million).

The figure represented a 5.8% increase compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

The January-to-September figure includes the revenue reported for September and shows that casino sales remained higher year-on-year across the first three quarters of 2026, despite the decline in September’s drop amount.

GKL operates its casino business through the Seven Luck brand, with three foreigner-only casino properties located in Seoul and Busan.

The KRW337.2 billion in casino sales provides the company’s year-to-date result through the end of September and represents a year-on-year increase over the first nine months of 2025.
