iGaming AFRIKA Launches Charity Football Tournament
iGaming AFRIKA Summit 2026 reached a new milestone in corporate social responsibility with the launch of the first iGaming AFRIKA Charity Football Tournament, organised together with Choplife Gaming at the Goan Gymkhana grounds. The initiative aims to raise $10,000 to support the construction of sanitation facilities in informal settlements across Africa.
The tournament featured six teams competing throughout the day, combining grassroots football talent with participants from the iGaming industry. Among the teams were representatives from Mayfair Casino Nairobi and former Harambee Stars players. The winning side received a $1,000 prize, while the runners-up earned $500, although the event’s main focus remained community support and fundraising.
Jeremiah Maangi from iGaming AFRIKA said football continues to represent opportunity and ambition for many young people across the continent. He added that the initiative was designed to support the same communities that produce local talent and stated that iGaming AFRIKA intends to expand similar projects across Africa in the future.
Choplife Gaming participated as the headline partner for the charity tournament. The operator, which has an expanding presence in East Africa, said the partnership reflects the gaming sector’s responsibility to contribute to social development within the communities where it operates.
Oluwatosin Ajibade, Founder and CEO of Choplife Gaming, said access to sanitation should be considered a basic necessity rather than a privilege. He noted that the partnership combines the reach of the gaming industry with a project intended to create direct community impact.
The event also marked the official launch of iGaming AFRIKA’s corporate social responsibility programme. The new initiative will focus on community infrastructure projects, youth development and local talent support across African markets, with Kenya identified as the starting point.
iGaming AFRIKA stated that community-focused projects will become a recurring part of its annual conference activities, with plans to introduce similar charity tournaments in additional cities across East and West Africa in the coming years.
