OLG Upgrades Mobile App with Bede Gaming

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has enhanced its mobile iGaming offering through its ongoing collaboration with Bede Gaming, launching a new application built on React Native for players in Ontario.

The updated app delivers a refreshed mobile experience for OLG.ca users, with a structure designed to support omnichannel functionality and improved performance across various devices. By using a single build for multiple platforms, the system allows for more efficient operations and simplified updates.

OLG noted that the platform serves over one million monthly users, with the new framework engineered to handle peak usage periods while maintaining stability. It also enables quicker rollout of new features as part of continuous product development.

The solution integrates directly with Bede Gaming’s wider platform, including its internal tools and third-party services. This reduces the need for additional development layers and allows operators to respond more rapidly to shifts in player behavior within the iGaming environment.

As part of the upgrade, the application incorporates geolocation technology from mkodo via its GeoLocs product, ensuring compliance with Ontario’s regulatory requirements for online gaming.

The transition to the new app was carried out in phases, with OLG confirming that the migration was completed without interrupting player activity. This reflects the broader industry trend of investing in mobile-first solutions within regulated markets.

Dave Pridmore, Chief Gaming Officer at OLG, highlighted the efficiency of the rollout and the seamless experience for users, emphasizing the importance of innovation in meeting player expectations.

Bede Gaming’s Chief Product Engineering Officer, Andrew Humphreys, added that the new app strengthens the partnership and provides a flexible, cost-efficient solution that supports OLG’s continued expansion in the mobile gaming space.

Further updates are expected as part of ongoing improvements to the user journey, aimed at enhancing accessibility, personalization and overall player retention in an increasingly competitive iGaming market.
