Sands China Launches New Baccarat Side Bets
Sands China Ltd has introduced two newly approved baccarat side bets, ‘Monkey no Monkey’ and ‘Pairs+’, across its Macau casino properties, with the wagers now available on both main gaming floors and in high-limit areas.
The new options have been observed at several Cotai venues, including The Londoner, The Parisian, The Plaza and The Venetian, as well as at Sands Macao on the peninsula. The rollout appears to have taken place recently, with the side bets already active on a number of tables.
Promotional materials displayed across the properties, including LED screens and printed leaflets, present the wagers as proprietary offerings developed by Sands, with branding highlighting them as exclusive additions to the gaming experience.
Sands China’s CEO and president, Grant Chum Kwan Lock, referenced the introduction of new side bets during the company’s first-quarter earnings call, noting that additional wagering options had been launched in Macau in recent days. While side bets account for a larger share of total wagers at Marina Bay Sands, he indicated that their usage in Macau has been gradually increasing and is expected to grow further with the introduction of new options.
The two side bets add to the existing range of baccarat wagers already available across Sands China properties. ‘Monkey no Monkey’ offers two payout structures at 1:1 and 50:1, while ‘Pairs+’ includes three payout tiers at 3:1, 30:1 and 300:1.
Minimum stakes for the new side bets begin at HKD100 on the main gaming floors at Cotai properties, rising to HKD300 or HKD500 in high-limit areas. At Sands Macao, minimum wagers start at HKD50 or HKD100, depending on the table. These sit alongside higher minimum bets required for standard baccarat wagers.
The introduction of these side bets expands Sands China’s table game offering, with the new options now positioned alongside existing wagers such as Lucky Six, Small 6/Big 6, Lucky 7 and Super Lucky 7 across its casino floors.
The rollout reflects a broader effort to enhance the baccarat experience across multiple venues, adding further variety to table gameplay in both Cotai and the Macau peninsula.
