O MEDIA Launches Access Macau Business Unit

O MEDIA, part of Complete Media Group, has introduced Access Macau, a new business division focused on providing hands-on support for international companies aiming to enter the Macau SAR market. The launch was marked on Friday during a private luncheon held at Artyzen Grand Lapa, bringing together 28 invited guests from the gaming, tourism, legal and hospitality industries alongside local stakeholders.

The event was attended by representatives from all six Macau concessionaires, as well as figures from government and business circles. Among those present were Dr. Cheng Wai Tong of the Macao Government Tourism Office, alongside senior executives from Galaxy Entertainment Group, City of Dreams, MGM China, Sands China, SJM Resorts and Wynn Macau.

New Entry Platform for Macau Market

Access Macau was developed against the backdrop of US$16.3 billion in non-gaming investment commitments made by Macau’s concessionaires across their current 10-year concession cycle running from 2023 to 2032. This investment, averaging around US$31 million per week, is directed toward expanding entertainment, tourism, events, technology, wellness and other non-gaming sectors.

The initiative comes as Macau continues to open its market more clearly to international companies interested in working with integrated resort operators. At the same time, an increasing number of external businesses are exploring entry into the region with varied concepts, though not all of these are suited to the local environment according to Access Macau.

The division is intended to help companies assess whether their ideas are viable, where they fit within the market, and what adjustments may be required before moving forward. It also aims to guide firms in adapting their strategies to align with Macau’s operational and regulatory landscape.

Advisory and Market Navigation Role

Access Macau draws on experience from gaming, hospitality, media and government-related sectors to provide practical market entry support. O MEDIA describes its approach as leveraging its media, events and advisory capabilities to connect international firms with relevant stakeholders while bridging different business cultures and practices.

A key function of the division is to filter and refine incoming business proposals, ensuring that only viable opportunities progress further into the Macau market. Alongside introductions to local partners, the unit will also assist companies with operational planning and stakeholder engagement to improve the chances of successful market entry.

The launch aligns with Macau’s broader strategy of economic diversification, as the city continues to expand beyond its traditional reliance on gaming. Access Macau positions itself as a facilitator for international firms seeking to participate in this transition while adapting to local requirements.

Industry Response and Outlook

Speaking at the luncheon, Galaxy Entertainment Group’s Macau COO Kevin Kelley noted that the region is actively pursuing diversification and welcomed initiatives that support structured market engagement. He congratulated the team behind Access Macau and expressed optimism about its potential role in supporting industry collaboration.

O MEDIA vice chairman and CEO Andrew W Scott said the division had been in development for some time and is designed to support Macau’s diversification goals while helping international firms navigate the city’s unique business environment. He added that the objective is to guide companies toward sustainable commercial outcomes.

With its launch, O MEDIA adds a new strategic business line focused on market entry advisory services. Access Macau now sits within Macau’s evolving economic framework as a platform intended to simplify entry for international businesses while supporting the city’s ongoing shift toward a more diversified economy.
