Turkey Leads Weekly iGaming Acquisition Intent Growth
Turkey registered the largest weekly increase in iGaming acquisition intent last week, according to the Blask Index, with the indicator rising 24.2% as the new Trendyol 1. Lig football season began.
The increase was recorded during the competition’s opening round, which took place from August 7 to 9. The timing adds to the observed connection between football activity and short-term movements in gambling interest.
Guinea and France Also See Significant Growth
Guinea posted the second-highest increase, with acquisition intent rising 19.3%.
The movement followed a major promotion by Guinée Games, which announced a 250 million Guinean franc jackpot, equivalent to approximately $28,500, for Better Barn House Bonanza on August 4.
France followed closely with an 18.2% increase. The rise coincided with a busy programme of Ligue 1 pre-season fixtures, including Lens against Sunderland and Rennes against Brentford on August 8, alongside Marseille fixtures.
The weekly gains were therefore not confined to established European gambling markets.
Angola Sees Growth Amid Regulatory Changes
Angola recorded a 17.9% increase during the week.
The market remains in a transitional period following the introduction of its new Gaming Activity Law. The Instituto de Supervisão de Jogos is currently maintaining a 30-day licensing window, which Blask identified as the main market event affecting the country during the reporting period.
The Republic of the Congo completed the top five, recording a 16.6% increase. Blask did not identify a specific country-level event responsible for the movement.
Football, Promotions and Regulation Drive Market Movements
The figures cover the period from August 3 to 9 and measure changes in acquisition intent rather than gambling revenue.
The Blask Index tracks activity across regulated markets to identify movements in operator interest and consumer demand.
The latest results followed the conclusion of the World Cup, with several of the strongest weekly increases associated with football matches, promotional activity or regulatory developments.
For operators, the data provides an indication of where consumer acquisition activity was moving immediately following the tournament. However, the weekly increases do not establish whether the growth will continue over a longer period.
