PAGCOR Recognised for PHP5.67bn Government Dividend

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has been recognised by the Philippine government after remitting PHP5.67 billion (approximately US$92.1 million) in dividends to the national treasury during 2025, placing the agency among the country's highest-contributing government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs).

Recognition Presented in Manila

According to PAGCOR, the agency ranked fifth among 50 government-owned and controlled corporations for fiscal year 2025 based on its dividend contribution.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr presented a certificate of recognition to PAGCOR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco in acknowledgement of the corporation’s contribution to national development.

The award was presented during the GOCC Day celebration at Malacañang Palace in Manila, where government agencies that made significant financial contributions during the year were recognised.

During his keynote address, President Marcos described GOCCs as important drivers of progress, equity and opportunity, while highlighting the value of good governance and fiscal responsibility in supporting national development without placing additional financial burdens on the public.

PAGCOR Reaffirms Commitment to Fiscal Responsibility

Alejandro Tengco said the recognition reflects PAGCOR’s continued commitment to responsible financial management and nation-building.

He noted that despite recent global economic challenges, the corporation remains focused on supporting projects that benefit the Filipino people.

Tengco also said PAGCOR will continue exercising fiscal discipline while working to increase its contributions to the national government. He linked the recognition to the organisation’s ongoing responsibilities as both a gaming regulator and casino operator.

The agency said the award acknowledges PAGCOR’s role in contributing a portion of its earnings to the government through dividend remittances.

Dividend Payment Meets Legal Requirement

PAGCOR stated that the PHP5.67 billion dividend represented 50% of its net income for 2025.

The remittance complies with Philippine legislation requiring government-owned and controlled corporations to transfer at least half of their annual net earnings to the national government.

The payment secured PAGCOR a place among the country's five largest GOCC contributors for the fiscal year.

The agency said the recognition reflects its continued role in supporting national development through dividend remittances while carrying out its dual responsibilities as both regulator and operator within the Philippine gaming industry.

Contribution to Government Revenue

The recognition also highlighted the broader contribution of government-owned and controlled corporations to public finances.

PAGCOR’s inclusion among the top five dividend remitters for 2025 demonstrates the scale of its financial contribution to the national treasury and reinforces the role of GOCC remittances in supporting government revenue.
