Altenar Powers Wildz Group’s Finland Market Entry

Sportsbook technology provider Altenar is supporting Wildz Group as the Malta-based operator prepares to enter Finland’s newly regulated online gambling market.

Wildz Group has become the first operator to publicly confirm that it has secured an online gambling licence in Finland. The authorisation will allow the company to operate once the country’s regulated market launches in July 2027.

The agreement builds on the companies’ existing relationship, which began in 2024. Altenar has supported Wildz Group as it expands beyond its casino-focused business model and develops its sportsbook presence across multiple markets.

For the Finnish launch, Altenar will contribute its regional knowledge, Nordic trading expertise and locally tailored content to support the operator’s market-entry strategy.

Partnership Supports Finnish Sportsbook Launch

Wildz Group CEO Sam Brown highlighted Altenar’s role in developing the operator’s international sports betting offering. He said the company expected a strong response from Finnish customers when the market opens in July 2027.

Brown added that Altenar’s flexible technology would help Wildz Group deliver a leading sports betting experience tailored to Finnish players.

Dinos Stranomitis, Chief Operating Officer at Altenar, described Finland’s transition towards a competitive online gambling market as an important development for the sector.

He noted that entering a newly regulated jurisdiction requires adaptable technology and an understanding of local market conditions. Stranomitis said Altenar was pleased to support Wildz Group’s plans with sportsbook technology designed to accommodate different regulatory environments and commercial objectives.

Finland Prepares to Open Licensed Online Gambling Market

Finland is moving away from its state-monopoly model towards a licensing framework for online gambling. The application process began on 1 March 2026, attracting considerable interest from operators ahead of the planned market opening.

Wildz Group’s licence announcement places the company among the operators preparing for the new competitive environment.

For Altenar, the partnership reinforces its strategy of supplying sportsbook technology that helps operators enter regulated jurisdictions while adapting their products to local requirements and longer-term business plans.
